What’s a scent you love that you associate with summer? What does summer smell like?
Andy: Fresh cut grass and beachy breezes.
Kate: Suntan lotion; crabs/old bay.
Tommy: Â A lawn after a fresh cut, beach breeze. I love the feeling of a thunderstorm rolling in, feel like there might be a scent to accompany that.Â
(Note from editor: petrichor yesss! Maybe also a little burnt-static-y?)
Beach read you have devoured this or past summer?
Kate: Uh - I just read Emily Henry’s Happy Place - fluffy, but enjoyable :)Â
Article of clothing or accessory you rewear all summer? Outfit you love? Anything about your summer style that the people should know?
Andy: Love wearing swim trunks all summer, I just bought 2 new pairs.Â
Kate: My cut off jean shorts I bought from American Eagle 15 years ago (more?) - the holes are expanding; I don’t think much time is left. I don’t wash my clothes all that much during the summer (except underwear).
Tommy: My Columbia fishing shorts and my 10-year-old Rainbow flip flops. I appreciate neutral colors! Catch me in brown and tan. Some call it boring, I call it stylish.
Which are you: A/C slut or sunkissed and sweaty slut?
Andy: Sunkissed sweaty babe.
Kate: With my old age comes limited patience with hot and sweaty.Â
Tommy: A/C.
Ultimate summer food/snack?
Andy: Peaches and sweet corn and crispy boys.Â
Kate: Going to get ice cream…especially Rita’s gelati.
Tommy: Chips and salsa, Italian cold cut, homemade ice cream sandwich.

Summer activity you have to do every year?

Beach babe? Cabin cutie? Home honey? Road trip angel?
Andy: Beach babe.
Kate: Lake > beach.Â
Tommy: Beach babe.
What’s a sweet-as-honey memory you hold?
Andy: It’s July 1996. Tommy isn’t born yet.The Reggios have a pool in their backyard now. Anthony and I play monopoly every day. He has Park Place and Boardwalk but I have all 3 green spaces and the game never ends. It’s a Friday afternoon and dad gets home from work a little early. He yells across the fence and asks if Anthony and I want to go see Independence Day in the theatre. We lose our minds! Anthony asks his mom and she says yes. Life is as good as it gets. (Awwww Andy, what a good memory -Kate)Â
Kate - Working at admissions at SMCM and living in the house across from the Door that had a pool. What a ridiculous 3 months - I was probably at my least responsible that summer of 2003.
Tommy: Hanging out at the beach with my family!Â
How do you take your water in the summer? Favorite summer bev?
Andy: Nice and icy. Fav summer beverage is a beer on the deck after a day on the beach. Any beer will do. Â
Kate: Lots of ice but in a cup with a straw; probably a beer, like Andy.Â
Tommy: Crushed ice, in a tall plastic cup!Â

All-time summer bop? 2024 summer bop?Â
I probably reimagined this 11x as this is SO BIG FOR ME. Music may be my most challenging love language…
Dissolve Me—alt J. Feels like a drippy wonder in my existence.
Kiss Them For Me—Siouxsie and the Banshees is a long time fav and feels adaptable forever as an anthem but something in it’s rhythm feels like my summer every time.
Throw Some Ass—Sofi Tukker. Who doesn’t dance when it hits?
Vegas—Shaboozey (addicted!).
All apologies—Nirvana.
What’s a scent you love that you associate with summer? What does summer smell like?
Salt, lemon-lime, sweetgrass, tequila, black pepper, and sea breeze (so basically a margarita).
Article of clothing or accessory you rewear all summer? Outfit you love?
My cotton wraparound dress bc I can get naked AF underneath and nobody knows but me (until now).
Which are you: A/C slut or sunkissed and sweaty slut?
A/C for sure, I melt in the sun! But I will sweat all day for beachy ocean breeze beneath an umbrella.Â
Ultimate summer food/snack?
Hibiscus/rose tea and cucumbers all day to stay cool. Also tacos, loaded with hot sauce!!!!! I am mostly made of tacos and hot sauce.
